England Riots to be solved

That's the real problem with me as I'm going to study since next month.

Don't Stop Anywhere

Nowhere will we live on earth. It seems we have to fiction our own reality from now on.
But today, looking out over my uncle's superb rose garden in his house, I've found myself so new between his nostalgia and utopia. That is in my reality.
Just for a while, I stopped my mind being surrounded by plenty of roses and my uncle's world.
Just for a while, I thought my favourite song, Thoughtforms by Lush, to refresh my mind.
Who knows one's own life in the future?
Notwithstanding my delay as a thinking man, I keep walking my way ceaselessly.

Life is a fiction

That's why I create a fiction in life.

In This World by Michael Winterbottom, which I saw today, is a sheer fiction. But the form is a documentary about two refugee Pakistanis to London. It was a road movie based on a well-equipped script and route by Tony Grisoni and no danger protected by the producing crew.  In my view, generally speaking, all the more fictitious a film is and better controlled, more comfortable it is to the audience who want to see what they predict beforehand, though unpredictable factors are partly prerequisite. Therefore, the film was fairly successful within people's hypothetical assumption. However, my point was not the fiction, but an aesthetic scenery in asylums and on journey from Pakistan to London including Iran, Turkey, Italy and France. Indeed all the refugees are always subject to death, but the cut by films was not necessarily sorry nor miserable. The film was just beautiful.

I think a fiction must aim to be real, real, real and surreal.
Pretending a real, ergo emerging a surreal.
Today, I incidentally took two photos: a real and denying it.

The kanji character 日常 on the advertisement above means a daily life, a routine business or ordinariness. But in the second picture, a train (at Shinagawa on Yamanote Line) is demolishing the 日常 on the adverts, which I dare to say means derealisation by a real over another real. Both the advertisement and the train are really real so that the reality on the adverts below is denied but intensified. Absence of the kanji itself is surreal.
Basically, interpreting a picture or giving it a particular meaning itself is alienation and the beginning of fiction.

Drink deep a cup of tea in life

A little learning is a dangerous thing
Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring [216]
There shallow draughts intoxicate the brain,
And drinking largely sobers us again.
Fired at first sight with what the muse imparts,
In fearless youth we tempt the heights of arts
While from the bounded level of our mind
Short views we take nor see the lengths behind
But more advanced behold with strange surprise,
New distant scenes of endless science rise!
So pleased at first the towering Alps we try,
Mount o'er the vales and seem to tread the sky,
The eternal snows appear already passed
And the first clouds and mountains seem the last.
But those attained we tremble to survey
The growing labors of the lengthened way
The increasing prospect tires our wandering eyes,
Hills peep o'er hills and Alps on Alps arise!

This is a passage from An Essay on Criticism, part 2 by Alexander Pope, cited from Project Gutenberg.
The first two lines (heroic couplet) is said to be massive famous as for a pedant.

Today, I found in my family kitchen Melrose's Darjeeling tea from Edinburgh.
Watching films tonight too, I'll drink deep a cup of tea given for today.
I'll also drink up a cup of tea given for the rest of my life.
Life is simple, but the fulfilment is a serious business.
Two or three cups are not necessary.
Only a cup of tea is enough in life.

A masterpiece of my friend

This evening, I went to Kawasaki, a brilliant house of my friend.
There was his vividest art (see above), besides contingent pieces of music in his surrealistic way.
On top of those, his room was already fucking artistic itself, like that of Francis Bacon (a mess!).
As well as his mother's tasty dishes, playing boxing was quite exciting (he is also a boxer).
I really appreciate an anarchic trip this night.
The following is one of our trip.

Ten DVDs a day

Oh là là, what a mess it is on my desk.
Of course, I can't watch all of these in a day.
In this week, I decided to see what I wanted to see for a long time.
No matter how wanton the reality is, the thing is a deep concentration outright.

Here is the 10 list today:
ハワーズ・エンド Howards End, James Ivory, UK, 1992
眺めのいい部屋 A Room with a View, James Ivory, UK, 1986
ひかりのまち Wonderland, Michael Winterbottom, UK, 1999
イン・ディス・ワールド In This World, Michael Winterbottom, UK, 2002
人生は、時々晴れ All or Nothing, Mike Leigh, UK, 2002
時計じかけのオレンジ A Clockwork Orange, Stanley Kubrick, UK, 1971
地獄の逃避行 Badlands, Terrence Malick, US, 1973
天国の日々 Days of Heaven, Terrence Malick, US, 1978

One beauty a day

It's a real Japanese metro in Sunday afternoon (Marunouchi Line).
I like this dark underground saving a little electricity (the above picture).
That's right, Tokyo Wonderground, all the more after the earthquake.

What is 'art film' ?

I don't really know the definition of 'art film'.
Gosh, I eventually scrutinised wiki/Art_film meticulously.

However, tonight when I saw Kubrick's film Lolita, Japanese subtitle of 'art movie' scratched my mind. It was translated as 'ピンク映画', which implies a sexual and obscene film associated with the colour 'pink ピンク' in Japanese. (It's also intriguing why a sexual 'blue movie' in English is 'pink' in Japanese.)
But I challenge the Japanese subtitle in the light of context. It's not necessarily a sexual film, which Lolita refused to join so that she was abandoned by her lover Quilty, because it seems that he was simply making films with queer artists of some sorts. So I'd suggest that it's enough to translate English into Japanese just straightly, 'アート映画'. I mean the meaning remains intact but mysterious, 'art アート' and 'movie 映画'. The reason why I obsessed with the translation is that it's crucial to understand the mind of Lolita at that last time when Humbert Humbert (the main obsessed character) dared to visit her house living with a new husband Dick. I think when she wanted shortly to say goodbye to the stepfather Humbert, she didn't intend to lie to him and merely wanted his plenty of money for moving to Alaska with her family.
Hence, in my view, the sexual interpretation of 'art' in Japanese is not needed, but Humbert's love of Lolita is truly sexual and quite artistic.

How to create a beauty

My goal is to create something beautiful.
Tonight also, I saw the film Waking life.
I don't know how many times I want to see it but I learn something brilliant from it every time.
